Templewood Avenue

Form new basement under the footprint of the house by underpinning the existing facades. The basement extended past the rear façade. This was formed by picking the rear façade on an RC frame and piling out into the garden. There was a central lift shaft formed up throughout the building with various new steels linking off this at each respective level.

Challenges

As with any open dig the works are exposed to the elements. This can make long term planning hard work. The works up through the superstructure had to integrate with significant retained structures.
